Given there still seems to be some lack of clarity around the 1 minute block upgrade, or other proposals for 2027 - I sat down to get us some more data. Here’s my first attempt at a solution https://www.consensus.cash

Log in with your X account to indicate your sentiment on 1 minute blocks so we can figure out if we’re genuinely close or not to forming consensus for lock in in 3 months.

Current version is X accounts only, weighted by followers, but future iterations will have custom reputation systems with NFTs and so on so that we can move away from reliance on Twitter. But gotta start somewhere. So jump in!!

It has some education about the CHIP process for people to learn what is going on as well. And of course, as always, it’s not a vote, it’s just a sentiment indicator people can take into account.

It was inspired by the very cool https://consensus.health website they had on BTC for the BIP110 debate.

Nice to see a clearer place for people to follow the discussion. The reminder that this is a sentiment indicator, not a vote, is especially helpful for people who are still learning how BCH upgrades are decided.
A simple public view of the current results would also help curious readers understand what the tool is for before deciding whether to take part.

100% will be coming. This is a tie in to the Selene work on BChat. It will take a while for the pieces to slot together, but it’s an eventual certainty. I don’t want to be tied to Twitter any more than we have to be.

Glad you like the concept. Can you explain more what you mean by a simple public view of the current results? On the galaxy page you can see how things are currently looking, and all the tools are available for people to filter or manipulate the data to see it the way they prefer. What kind of view of the current results are you imagining?

I meant a short default summary for someone seeing the site for the first time, before they explore the galaxy and filters—for example: which option currently has more support, roughly how many people have taken part, how follower weighting affects the display, and when the data was last updated.
The galaxy view is useful for exploring, but a plain-language snapshot would help new visitors orient themselves quickly.

There’s currently only 1 proposal seriously in contention, which is tagged like that. The number of people in the galaxy is visible visually and you can also find the exact number in the panels. Follower weighting isn’t totally clear yes, it is scaled 5x to 2x, ie a 5 000 follower account will be 2x the size of a 1 000 follower account. Data is live and up to date every second. I will add a note about those two clarifying, and think if there is a better way we can summarise the proposals to be clear to people who don’t have as much context.
