Interactive Checklists

This forum supports interactive checklists in your posts via plugin.

The main idea is that users can click on checklist-items after submitting their post to check or uncheck each box, without the need to edit their post manually.

Clicking on a checklist-item will log an edit, enabling users and staff to track when items on the list are completed.

With the plugin enabled–which is the case for this forum–users can add checklist-items to their post by typing [] or [ ] as it follows:

### Bucket list
[ ] Freedive at the sea
[ ] Drive a Pagani Imola
[ ] Hike the Inca Trail
[ ] Climb Kilimanjaro
[ ] Create a p2p electronic cash system

Which produces:

Bucket list

Freedive at the sea
Drive a Pagani Imola
Hike the Inca Trail
Climb Kilimanjaro
Create a p2p electronic cash system

Enjoy checklists!

If it logs an edit, do you know if it means it is subject to the post edit time limit?

Maybe we can check when it stops allowing you to edit this post : D

In theory it logs an edit in the sense that everybody can see your changes as an “edition”, but it is not subject to the edit time limit.
But it is better to try  .

@emergent_reasons, so in this case for example, @joshmg edited my checklist.
That was, in theory, only possible because he has moderator rights.
When that kind of edition happens you (the owner of the checklist) should receive a notification visible at your upper right (avatar):

Besides that case, the owner of the list is the only one able to play with it, no other users.
You can also check editions made by using the image pencil icon at the top of the topic.

@emergent_reasons, could you please try to edit my checklist and provide feedback?
Thanks @joshmg for jumping in.

I tried but wasn’t able to edit your post.

Then we confirmed that it works.
Excellent!
We just need to ask moderators to treat checklists as users’ post content.
